Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton is truly a breathtaking place and can be easily added on to a trip to Yellowstone.

We got to Grand Teton by flying into Bozeman airport and we rented a car through Hertz. We booked the car MONTHS ahead and got it for 900$ less than cars were going for the month of. I cannot stress that planning and booking ahead are worth it. The airport was very much like a ski resort lodge and navigating it was simple. The rental car was a quick pickup and the garage was connected to the airport - no shuttles were needed there or at return which made more time for vacation. We first went to Yellowstone and then to Teton, staying overnight at Heart Circle Ranch in between.

Grand Teton is really a one-day park. A simple drive-in from the North and out through the South is ideal. You’ll drive along the mountains the whole time and continuously get different views. Most of the hiking is simple and I highly recommend Jenny Lake and exploring around there. You can even rent boats and water equipment there. In one full day you can stop at all of the viewpoints and not miss anything. You can even get in a bit of fly fishing if you’d like.

There were mounds of snow on the ground, but it was about 81 when we were there, so be prepared for a variety of weather whenever you plan to go!

The day after the park we went to the town of Jackson Hole to explore, eat and have some drinks. This place reminded me of a much smaller version of Pigeon Forge right outside of Great Smoky Mountains. Lots of little shops, museums and overpriced activities to entertain you. It’s worth a stroll around, but be prepared to wait in some lines for meals.
