Before I begin I should mention this was part of our honeymoon trip. I say this because I feel if you do not have kids you may overlook this place - however, we found it extremely enjoyable!

Mill Canyon is on BLM land and does not cost anything to visit. It was previously a working mill that failed and was then surveyed which found a plethora of Dinosaur bones and prints. These prints and bones can be found in the ground and on rocks on the loop trail and at the basin.

When you first get on the road (you may nee four-wheel drive) you will KEEP GOING to the Mill Canyon Trails (you will pass other exits) until the road ends in the parking lot. At the edge of the lot you’ll see where the loop trail starts. There is no right or wrong way to go, but we started at the lot and ended at the mill remnants.

Signs will mark the bones and show you what bones are there - you will need to use a little imagination, but they are real and they are there! The loop is very short, but bustling with nature.

Once done this portion you can drive back out the way you came and you’ll pass a left turn for the basin where there are footprints left on a lakebed from dinosaurs. This is much easier to see than the bones but also marked with signs and a boardwalk over the footprints. When you park in this lot you’ll see a fenced-off area ahead.

Since this is BLM land you can camp in this area with an RV/ pop up or use recreational vehicles here for fun as well!
