Griffith Observatory

If you have time in Los Angeles a stop at Griffith Observatory is a must. I’ve been a few times and every time I have never been inside so don’t ask me what is in there, but just the outside is amazing. You may have seen this stop in a few dozen movies, but it’s not quite as whimsical or fake as La La Land made it out to be.
Where Is It?
Just a bit out of the way of Los Angeles you’ll find the wonderous Griffith Park and right inside is Griffith Observatory.
How To Find It?
Pop 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 into your GPS and enjoy the views on your way, it’s a beautiful park.
Is There Parking?
Yes! Once the GPS says you’re about a minute out start looking for empty spots. This is a busy destination as even the international crowd makes a stop here so overflow, streetside parking happens frequently. Get as close as you can, park it, hide valuables and enjoy.
Are There Bathrooms?
There were port-o-potties and I believe a bathroom inside if it’s open.
Is There Shopping, Food or Novelty Museums?
One time I went there was an ice-cream guy, but that was really it. There may be food inside, and there was a vending machine the last time I went.
How Far Is The Walk/Hike To The Destination?
This is really just an overlook. You park, walk a wee bit uphill and then you’re at the fencing. You can go all the way around the observatory and I highly recommend it.
Is This Handicap Accessible?
Absolutely!
Is This A Family-Friendly Destination?
Totally. And you’ll find many families there. It’s a great place (arguably the BEST place) to easily see the Hollywood Sign and the cityscape in one place.
