Niagara Falls is an amazing site, however many say it’s a viewpoint and a quick stop, but I think it’s quite the opposite and at least a full day stop!

First of all, if you don’t do anything else in this entire blog you need to go to the CANADIAN side of Niagara Falls. You can also see the views from the state’s side, however, I believe there is more offered and the views are better on the Northside. Keep in mind you are going to need a passport to cross the borderlines.

On of the BEST things about Niagara Falls is this Journey Behind The Falls tour. It’s self guided and typically starts every half hour. There is a cost but typically there are Groupons or ticket deals given by your hotel. You’ll take an elevator that takes you down under the falls and then you can tour the tunnels under the falls. It’s pretty eerie and gives you It/ Titanic vibes but was really neat nonetheless. It has a lot of information in a museum format and lets you look through peep holes to the backside of the water and past collapsed and unfinished tunnels.

The views are also amazing on ths side of the falls. With the Behind The Falls Tour you can get right up next to the falls (yes you’ll be wet), you could take the boat tour (I personally found this too expensive), but even the vewing walkway is right up next to the top of the falls. No matter what way you see the falls you will be able to really emerge yourself.

Picking a hotel is honestly inportant also. If you are staying here for the night it is worth paying for the “falls view” rooms each hotel has to offer. At night there are light shows that happen over the falls which s really cool, but if there is bad weather or major humidity it is hard to see the falls. Be sure to also ask the desk if they offer any discounts/coupons to local restaurants or attractions - many do!
