A Day At The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is one big ole hole in the ground totally worth seeing! It’s a great day or overnight trip worth taking! Here’s how we did it!
We made this trip in Winter which means only the South Rim is open, but honestly that’s the side we would’ve visited regardless. This is operated by the National Parks Service and works in the same manner as other NPS parks. We actually drove into the canyon during nighttime before our day there and drove up to one of the viewpoints to see the canyon at night when it was lit up by the moon. It was a very eerie, but really neat sight to see. We stayed at Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn and got a REALLY great rate on Groupon.
The following morning we had breakfast at the hotel (it was amazing) and then drove to the all the way other end of the park. Then we made our trek back, stopping at each viewpoint to take photos and read the informational signs. We do feel like this is a one and done park and that stopping at every viewpoint was a little much but we did notice a difference in views at the different points! There is an area in this park that you can get food, but it was closed at the time of our visit.
While driving the canyon side is honestly really neat, but at the highpoints of the drive, you should look on the other side to get some incredible mountain views! Hiking in the canyon is also great, but during a storm is completely impossible and does tend to take multiple days and should be done by experienced hikers. You also can see a lot of wildlife here and we saw a ton of elk throughout our drive!
