Hoover Dam is a quick stop while crossing the Nevada/ Arizona line worth stopping to see! Here are some quick tips for your stop!

First and foremost your car will be screened by security no matter which way you enter the dam. On the Nevada side, there is a paid parking garage, but on the Arizona side the lot is free but fills up quickly. You can walk from side to side as well as drive, but walking is the easiest. The Nevada side has the paid museum/ visitor center, but the Arizona side has the overtop lookout point. There is a bathroom next to the garage as well as a place you can get snacks. There are signs posted across the walkway that explain the history of the dam, so the museum is not necessarily worth the price.

No matter which side you see make sure you drive a little past the dam entrance on the Nevada side and go up to the Lake Mead overlook for some incredible mountain and lake views!

Hoover Dam is best when paired with a stop at The Grand Canyon or when headed to Vegas!
